FRE may raise capital in Q3 - MER
MER is saying they believe FRE will fulfill their promise to raise capital by issuing a combination of preferred and common shares in the 3rd quarter. FRE has been putting off the FED and TSY first saying conditions were not favorable (when the stock was trading over $20), then saying they needed to register with the SEC for an offering (not true), then after Q2 earnings. Certainly FRE knows that capital raising efforts are made much more difficult the lower the stock price. FRE has continued to expand their balance sheet and of course to remind the market that they have the required capital.
