Update:Petro-Canada Trying to Minimize Gas Shortages
Petro-Canada says cat-cracker problems are the reason for the temporary closure at the Edmonton Refinery.
The company is currently shipping available inventories but has reduced the volume of gasoline deliveries to its customers and warned consumers that Petro-Can Gasoline stations in western Canada could run dry before the shortage is over.
The company is adjusting its distribution network to minimize shortages, ensuring sufficient supplies for essential services as it continues to repair the cat cracker.
No date has been set for the reopening of the refinery.
