Metals Close

Metals finished lower with Gold down 0.6% to 877.90, Silver off 2.3% to 16.125, Platinum shedding 1.6% to 1584.5 and Copper falling 0.1% at 341.80.

Copper reached a high of 346.55 in pre-market trading, but could not eclipse yesterday’s high of 347.50. After floor trading opened, Copper slowly gave back all its gains and moved into negative territory just before the close. Tomorrow, resistance will be up at today’s high (346.55) with support tomorrow down at today’s low of 340.95 and Tuesday’s low of 337.65.

Like Copper, Gold was positive in the morning, but sold off as the dollar strengthened. This is the fifth consecutive session losing session for Gold.
